The Town of Collierville officially adopted the 2012 International Residential Code and the 2012 International Plumbing Code on March 1, 2012.
“This comprehensive, stand-alone residential code establishes minimum regulations for one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses using prescriptive provisions. It is founded on broad-based principles that make possible the use of new materials and new building designs. This 2012 edition is fully compatible with all the International Codes (I-Codes) published by the International Code Council (ICC), including the International Building Code, 2008 National Electrical Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Existing Building Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, ICC Performance Code, International Plumbing Code, International Private Sewage Disposal Code, International Property Maintenance Code, International Residential Code, International Wildland-Urban Interface Code and International Zoning Code." -Preface and Introduction to the 2012 International Residential Code.
“Significant changes in the plumbing industry, as well as in manufacturing technology, had become so commanding that a radically new approch to the design and installation of plumbing systems seemed an imperative. The reply to that imperative was the International Plumbing Code, a document emphasizing prescriptive and performance-related provisions. The provisions of this code shall apply to the erection, installation, alteration, repairs, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of plubing systems within this jurisdictions (Town of Collierville). This code shall also regulate nonflammable medical gas, inhalation anesthetic, vacuum piping, non medical oxygen systems and sanitary and condensate vacuum collection systems.” -Preface and Scope of the 2012 International Plumbing Code.
